Do not be afraid to negotiate, whether you are talking salary, deadlines, project parameters or anything in between. This is a critical skill for achieving business success and it’s a tough lesson, for many women in particular, to learn. It takes practice, confidence, the ability to understand what’s a reasonable ask and the courage to stand firm, even when others disagree.
One key way to gain an advantage in the negotiation process is to make sure that everyone is working from the same facts and details, regardless of whether or not they are physically in the same room.
